#TAS25 Guest Spotlight: Aurea Exhibitions

Since its founding in 2006, Aurea Exhibitions has created and designed touring exhibitions across Latin America and beyond.

Owner Ezequiel Pena has experienced success in varying markets around the world but is now eager to bring his creations to Asia, with virtual reality experiences in the works.

What projects are you currently working on?

Ezequiel Pena: “I am currently working on several exhibitions, including the Bodies exhibition which has one set touring in Chile, one in Malaga before heading to Vigo and other Galician cities, and another set in Central America now doing Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica. Then, starting in the USA from July 26, it will be touring there for a couple of years.

“Furthermore, there is the Dinosaurs exhibition, which currently has one set in Argentina touring the provinces, another set in Paraguay, another set in Ecuador, and another set in Puerto Rico.

“We also have Sea Monsters, Love Up, and Van Gogh Vivo currently in Peru, the Michelangelo exhibition currently in Miami, and the Da Vinci exhibition also in the USA.”

What are some of the trends you are experiencing in the region?

EP: “Right now, immersive experiences are in fashion. However, the 360-degree projection for me is not immersive, it’s nice and cool to see obviously, but you are not inside it as you are with a VR experience which is completely immersive.

“Also, people that attend those immersive exhibitions tend to leave with the feeling that it wasn’t enough and that there was no real story. You don’t touch the hearts and feelings of the audience with only projections.”

What is in the pipeline for Aurea Exhibitions?

EP: “There are a couple of new exhibitions that we are creating, like a walking virtual reality of dinosaurs, and we are permanently improving the exhibitions I own with new technologies and creating new experiences inside them.

“There is also always a focus on selling tickets which is our main objective with the exhibitions.”

What are you looking to discover at TheTicketingBusiness ASIA 2025?

EP: “I would like to meet colleagues to partner with my exhibitions and tour them in Asia.

“I did work a lot in Singapore, Thailand, and once in the Philippines and in Macau, but I am willing to do much more touring and business in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Join Ezequiel and hundreds of ticketing and events professionals at TheTicketingBusiness ASIA 2025 #TAS25 from October 21-23.
